Executive Director
The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for supporting the business development and administration of the Geneva Lake West Chamber of Commerce (GLWCC) within the communities served. The ED works hand in hand with the GLWCC Board of Directors, any other Contractors hired, Committees, Chamber Members, Prospective Members, and our represented Villages. The ED must be knowledgeable of the area served and have a strong network of contacts and relationships. A forward-thinking attitude is a must to represent and advocate for business owners and the community to further support area tourism, while also being detail oriented to support the accurate management of the chamber and various daily operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Cultivate, recruit, engage and retain prospective and current Chamber members to sustain and grow our membership.
• Manage the administrative aspects of GLWCC which includes record keeping, budget assistance, reconciliations, answering emails and phone calls, preparing meeting agendas and member packets.
• Identify and create new networking opportunities, including bringing new ideas to promote local tourism.
• Organize and implement programs, activities, and events that allow members to promote their business’s products, services, and employment opportunities to the community.
• Serve as the spokesperson of the Chamber to the membership, community, governmental entities, and other community organizations. To support these efforts, the ED will leverage various outreach channels including but not limited to social media sources, newsletters, public speaking opportunities, community bulletins, the chamber website, and various other promotional activities.
• Communicate details regarding all GLWCC Events including Monthly Member Luncheons, Fundraising Events (Annual Dinner & Golf Outing) for timely and impactful marketing communications.
• Offer ideas for collaboration with area chambers, or multi-chamber events to the Board of Directors for approval. As approved, communicate details for timely marketing communications.
• Assist in recruiting and engaging member volunteers to participate in various Chamber Committees.
• Support the member recruitment, ideation and creation of the Annual Chamber Guide with the GLWCC Guide Sponsor.
• Manage the accurate creation of new member accounts and monitor non-paying members to ensure an accurate representation of the Member Directory.
• Review, edit, improve and maintain the GLWCC website.
• Identify, develop and manage various reports as required by the Board of Directors.
• Manage incoming membership dues, bills and renewals as required by the Treasurer and Board of Directors.
• Strengthen relationship with the Village of Fontana, Village of Walworth and Village of Williams Bay with a professional and collaborative community presence.
• Prepare and present Business Development and Administrative updates to GLWCC Board Monthly.
• Support GLWCC office hours as determined by the Board of Directors.

Preferred Qualities:
• Engaging personality, business insight, and strong communication skills are essential.
• Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with local elected officials from a non-partisan, business-centered mindset.
• Ability to evaluate current processes within the Chamber and offer opportunities for improvements.
• Fortify business to community opportunities.
• Open to learning the necessities of QuickBooks to support various financial administration of the Chamber.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress and Constant Contact.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Sales, business, and marketing experience.
• Experience in non-profit management, member recruitment, event planning and service on a board.
• Administrative and reporting experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and personal automobile for reliable transportation.
• Available to occasionally work evenings or weekends.
• General knowledge of financial management, including proficiency in QuickBooks (Capabilities Test Required).
